While celebrating 20 years of association with global woodworking industry, Modern Woodwork revamped its website and moved to a new domain –
www.modernwoodworkasia.com. Mr. Jürgen Köppel, President of Eumabois and CEO of Leitz Group launched the new website on March 14, on the second day of DelhiWood exhibition.
LIGNA 2019 is all set to take place in Hannover between 27 and 31 May, 2019. Integrated solutions and customization are among the key themes of LIGNA this year. Everybody used to say in the past that integrated solutions are just for big industries. But it’s very much useful for small and medium size companies as well. If we apply it to furniture industry, we would realize that data flow during the entire manufacturing process has to be constant. It’s a new thing little bit, which is called Industry 4.0. LIGNA is the place where you will see big production lines of big industries and also solutions for small and medium industries. There you will get introduced to Intelligent tooling, importance of data, how to use it.
DelhiWood growing year-on-year
I always like to come to India and especially like to visit DelhiWood. I have been receiving extremely positive feedback for this year’s edition. I have seen the show growing to newer heights over the past decade and delighted with the fact that this year DelhiWood has witnessed 40 percent growth. This figure is reflecting the importance of Indian market. It is important that the European manufacturers for machines and tools have to be here in India. DelhiWood is giving us a perfect platform to exhibit our machines, tools and services.
India at a remarkable juncture
While everyone is talking about China, we shall not forget India. It would be adventurous to say that the Indian market is booming; but it is steadily growing and the momentum of growth is picking up speed. Though largely unorganized, the Indian woodworking industry is developing. I recall very well when I came to India for the first time in 1990s and now, we have a totally different India. When I look at the development in the last two decades, across all sectors, including woodworking, India has reached a remarkable stage. In Europe, we have very advanced technology in machinery, processes and we have been bringing all these modern technologies to India.
Leitz in India
For me, as Leitz CEO, it is very important to be here and it goes without saying that Leitz Group will be going to invest in India because we are talking about more than 1.3 billion people living in this country. The growing demand for furniture here needs to be satisfied. There will be more and more development in days to come in the direction of an industrial approach. Eumabois support this new approach and an era of growth and development.

Modern Woodwork celebrated its 20th anniversary at the recently held 6th Edition of DelhiWood 2019 in Greater Noida. The dedicated stall of Modern Woodwork was bustled with visitors including readers, advertisers, industry doyens and well-wishers.
