First Industry Meet organized in Mumbai

The Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) launched its One Nation, One Industry campaign at the first Industry Meet of the Mumbai Regional Skill Chapter held in Navi Mumbai. FFSC invited key industry players from the Mumbai region to be a part of the meet hosted by the Narsi Group at their Navi Mumbai plant on December 22, 2022.

The meet saw participation from more than 40 companies from the interiors, furniture and enabling sub-sectors. Key participation included IIID, HOMAG India, Greenply Industries, Nilkamal Limited, Felder Group, ICA Pidilite, Pidilite CSR, Pidilite One, Shreepal and others.

The key points discussed during the meeting:

  • Launch of the ‘One Nation, One Industry’ campaign

  • FFSC Regional Skill Chapter and the operating procedures

  • Skill Academies – Beginner, Apprenticeship and Centre of Excellences (COEs)

  • Felicitation of the new Industry Members

An open forum discussion was held on the skilling interventions required by the industry and how a Regional Skill Chapter will work towards implementing the same on a hub and spoke model. An overwhelming response from the industry partners has given the ideal start to Mumbai’s Regional Skill Chapter.

Under the ‘One Nation, One Industry’ campaign, many such events will be planned across the country.

FFSC will be conducting the next Industry Meets in Kolkata (1 February 2023) and Chennai (7 February 2023). Please write to info@ffsc.in if you would like to be a part of the future Industry Meets across India.
