Starcke, the medium-sized independent fourth-generation family business
and one of the major abrasive suppliers in the global market has expanded its base in Chakan industrial area near Pune from erstwhile 15,000 sq. ft. area to 50,000 sq. ft. with both production and warehouse in the same premises. The company has moved to this new facility on April 1, 2019.
The state-of-the-art facility is used to convert all coated abrasive jumbos into discs, belts, roll sheets etc. to name a few. Catering the entire length and breadth of India was the main intention behind this mega expansion. Along with this, the company is also looking to supply to neighbouring countries as well.
For over 100 years, the abrasive cloths and papers manufactured by Starcke have added the finishing touches in a wide variety of applications, manufacturing quality products. A diversified product range is marketed world-wide through its subsidiaries and various other distribution channels.
The business activities of Starcke can be traced back to before 1720.
With a corporate history spanning over 280 years since the company’s origin and 190 years under the Starcke name, the company aim to further build on this tradition by actively forging the future. KG, was established in 2007 with an aim to serve the growing Indian demand from various sectors including the woodworking industry.
