MEM Industrial 2023, a leading trade fair for the Mexican wood processing and furniture manufacturing industry, has achieved resounding success, surpassing its 2022 edition in terms of visitor turnout and business generated.
Held between March 7-9 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, the event attracted over 4,500 visitors, a 15% increase from 2022, and facilitated on-site business deals worth more than US$ 3.4 million.
Furniture manufacturers, carpenters, cabinetmakers, designers, wholesalers, and architects from across 30 Mexican states and over 10 countries, including the United States, China, Guatemala, Colombia, Turkey, Honduras, Chile, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland, convened for three days to share experiences, forge business relationships, and explore the latest industry trends.
Hendrik Engelking, Global Director of LIGNA, the world’s most prominent wood and furniture industry fair held in Hannover, Germany, attended MEM Industrial 2023’s inauguration ceremony. Engelking praised the event, stating, “Year after year, MEM Industrial serves as a comprehensive platform for the business of the wood and furniture industry and, above all, it is a space where the leaders of the sector exchange experiences and knowledge while discovering the new technologies and tools available on the market.”
In addition to the main exhibition, MEM Industrial 2023 featured workshops, conferences, and the fourth edition of Makers for Good Make-a-ton. This creative marathon is designed to assist entrepreneurs, artists, architects, engineers, carpenters, and craftsmen in designing, prototyping, manufacturing, funding, and launching their products in Mexico’s furniture market.
