Inaugural Edition of the North-East Wood Expo Creates History

The inaugural edition of the North-East Wood Expo, organised by Eventage Trade Fair & Events at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati (Assam) attracted more than 180 exhibitors and 7,500+ visitors during 16 to 18 December 2022.

The first edition of North-East Wood Expo trade show, focussed on woodworking machinery, furniture and plywood manufacturing, wood panel industry, was sponsored by Nezone Group. Manakamna Wood Composites Pvt. Ltd. (MARL) joined the event as WPC Partner, Federation of Industry and Commerce of North-Eastern Region (FINER) as Industry Partner, Institute of Wood Science & Technology (IWST), Bengaluru as Institutional Partner and Modern Woodwork as Media Partner. The show was supported by State Bamboo Development Agency (SBDBA) – Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Assam, Wood Technologist Association, Hardware Association of Guwahati, Guwahati Sanitary and Hardware Merchants Association and Interiors Solutions App.

The expo was organised concurrently with North-East Build Expo blending the Construction and Woodworking Industry of the territory and attracted over 7,500+ trade visitors cumulatively. The Expo proved to be the largest showcase of products, innovations, services and technology in the north-eastern wood industry. The expo also became the largest trade show in the history of North-East India, both in terms of participating companies and visitors. The atmosphere was buzzing with enthusiasm and excitement about the latest woodworking and furniture manufacturing technologies and equipment. As per client feedback the ROI was on a very positive side, over 95% of exhibitors were able to meet their targets and generate significant business opportunities in the region. Approximately 90% of exhibitors have shown their interest to repeat their participation in the following edition as well.

The event featured a wide range of exhibitors, offering everything from small tools to large machinery, and from raw materials to services etc. Most of the exhibitors were highly knowledgeable about their products and were eager to share their knowledge with attendees. Attendees had ample opportunity to ask questions, test out tools, and learn about the various features and benefits of the various products and technologies. The Expo also featured a variety of demonstrations and seminars. Attendees were able to learn about new techniques, safety procedures, and the latest trends in woodworking industry.
